RECKLESS SCHEDULING (v 2.0): ARMY SWAPS IN AWAY GAME

Remember that big sweeping sudoku puzzle of 2012 scheduling we did at the end of the season? Well, with news that BC and Army have swapped home field for the 2012 and 2013 dates, it's already wrong, but only on the basis of a technicality.

Just so we have it all copacetic, we want to keep our pencil schedule up to date until the real thing drops in a few weeks (the ACC has been pretty consistent with its mid-February delivery).

So, here's what we know are guaranteed dates. The only change from last month is the site of the Army game:

9/1 -
9/8 -
9/15 - @ Northwestern
9/22 -
9/29 -
10/6 - @ Army
10/13 -
10/20 -
10/27 -
11/3 -
11/10 - vs. Notre Dame
11/17 -
11/24 -

Now, here's the schedule I ended up posting, based on my back-of-the-napkin math:

9/1 - vs. Maryland
9/8 - vs. Clemson
9/15 - @ Northwestern
9/22 - @Georgia Tech
9/29 - vs. Maine (FCS)
10/6 - vs. Army
10/13 - @ Wake Forest
10/20 - BYE
10/27 - vs. Virginia Tech
11/3 - @ Florida State
11/10 - vs. Notre Dame
11/17 - @ NC State
11/24 - vs. Miami

When you flip that Army game to become an away game, that gives BC four road games and a bye in six weeks. I just don't see that happening. The easiest - and a move consistent with past seasons - would be to flip Wake and Virginia Tech.

Our new prediction:

9/1 - vs. Maryland
9/8 - vs. Clemson
9/15 - @ Northwestern
9/22 - @Georgia Tech
9/29 - vs. Maine (FCS)
10/6 - @ Army
10/13 - vs. Virginia Tech
10/20 - BYE
10/27 - @ Wake Forest
11/3 - @ Florida State
11/10 - vs. Notre Dame
11/17 - @ NC State
11/24 - vs. Miami

  1. The defense has carried BC. The loss of Kuechly, Fletcher, and Holloway are devastating in addition to the cutting of LeGrande and Ochochoa. There are big troubles at the "end of the pier". We will see what Martin can do with Rettig and the offense. I would also like to see some feedback on Christian Suntrup. The schedule may not matter. They should be the underdog in every game which includes Maine.
